Low field hysteresis in disordered ferromagnets

چکیده
We analyze low field hysteresis close to the demagnetized state in disordered ferromagnets using the zero temperature random-field Ising model. We solve the demagnetization process exactly in one dimension and derive the Rayleigh law of hysteresis. The initial susceptibility a and the hysteretic coefficient b display a peak as a function of the disorder width. This behavior is confirmed by numerical simulations d = 2, 3 showing that in limit of weak disorder demagnetization is not possible and the Rayleigh law is not defined. These results are in agreement with experimental observations on nanocrystalline magnetic materials. PACS numbers: 75.60.Ej, 75.60.Ch, 64.60.Ht, 68.35.Ct Typeset using REVTEX 1

Irreversible effects in Aug81Fe19 and Ni79Mn 21 below the de Almeida-Thouless temperature
2014 Two disordered alloys, Au81Fe19 and Ni79Mn21, were cooled from ~ 100 K down to different temperatures in the range 1.2 K T 40 K, either in zero field or in a field ranging from 50 G to 28 kG. Their low-field hysteresis loops were then measured Near and above some characteristic temperature, TAT, identified as the de Almeida-Thouless temperature, the hysteresis loops of both alloys present ...

The dynamical hysteresis is studied in the kinetic Ising model in the presence of a sinusoidal magnetic field both by Monte Carlo simulation and by solving the dynamical meanfield equation for the averaged magnetisation. The frequency variations of the dynamic coercive field are studied below the critical temperature. In both the cases, it shows a power law frequency variation however it become...
متن کاملQuantum critical behavior in disordered itinerant ferromagnets: Logarithmic corrections to scaling
The quantum critical behavior of disordered itinerant ferromagnets is determined exactly by solving a recently developed effective field theory. It is shown that there are logarithmic corrections to a previous calculation of the critical behavior, and that the exact critical behavior coincides with that found earlier for a phase transition of undetermined nature in disordered interacting-electr...
متن کاملQuantum critical behavior of itinerant ferromagnets
We investigate the quantum phase transition of itinerant ferromagnets. It is shown that correlation effects in the underlying itinerant electron system lead to singularities in the order parameter field theory that result in an effective long-range interaction between the spin fluctuations. This interaction turns out to be generically antiferromagnetic for clean systems. In disordered systems a...
